Everytime I think I've seen just about everything with this disease - something new comes along. I've developed a nasty rash on the left side of my groin - I have to really fight to not scratch at it all the time. Lately I have been dribbling a lot after I urinate. This is a relatively new symptom - it began in August - and I am now in my 10th wonderful month of this disease. Up to August dribbling was not a problem. My most severe symptom has always been urinary retention. I'm currently in my third month of proscar therapy and also take flomax (have been since June) once a day. I take proscar because at 42 - I have BPH. If proscar does not do the job - then a WIT may be in my future. I really want to stay away from WITS and TURPS until I'm older, however. Radical stuff has so much risk. Anyway, back to the rash. It is really irritating. It is in my left upper leg, left testicle and the crack where the testicle meets the leg. I read on WEBMD that proscar may cause a rash - however I have been on it for two months (August 28) and thus far have not had problems. I really hesitate to stop it (proscar) because it takes SIX MONTHS to begin to work. I can't figure out if the rash is from the proscar or the dribbling urine that is on me as I sleep at night - I lay on my left side. The rash is nowhere else - just localized so far to that one area - but it is really irritating. Has anyone else in here had rashes either due to proscar, dribbling or anything else? Can someone suggest a topical preparation to get rid of it? I've tried desitine so far with no luck... Thanks, Bob
